I know many of us are facing various challenges and scary realities right now, and for me, that involves reevaluating my career and this business. I've known the price of silver rising was inevitable and would impact how I run my business, but I didn't expect it to jump so quickly....during my past 5 years of metalsmithing, silver would jump a $1 or $2 at most every so often.....this past weekend in one single day it jumped from $100 to $110. Truly unprecedented.
I simply can't keep up with prices right now. I've already upped my prices a few times and with such a significant increases so rapidly, I can't keep raising my prices everyday.
So I need a break.
I am looking at different ways to make jewelry....and possibly a career shift at this point. I am heartbroken and grieving a life I've worked so hard to build. But these are only the small challenges I face compared to others.
I will continue teaching workshops in SLC, and I will keep you all updated when I start creating and selling again.
