Create your own one-of-a-kind bezeled stone ring in this hands-on metalsmithing workshop!
You’ll start by selecting your stone — choose from my curated collection or bring your own. I’ll guide you step by step through creating a custom bezel, soldering your backplate and ring band, and finishing your piece with personal, artistic details.
Bring along a few inspiration photos if you’d like — they’re great for sparking ideas and helping you plan your design.
By the end of class, you’ll leave with a beautiful, handcrafted ring you’ll be proud to wear, plus the foundational metalsmithing skills to continue building your craft.
No prior experience is necessary. This class is for 18+ only.
Date and Time
Saturday, January 10th from 1-4pm
What to Expect
This is an intimate, small-group workshop (2–4 participants) for a personalized, hands-on experience. Each participant will have their own workstation at a shared table. We’ll share soldering torches (butane and/or acetylene) and a Dremel.
The studio is located in a shared artist space inside a converted warehouse garage in Sugarhouse. It’s full of creative energy and charm — but bring layers in the winter months! There’s a shared restroom in the building.
About the Instructor
With over 5 years of metalsmithing experience and a teaching background, teaching jewelry making is my passion. I also teach jewelry making at Salt Lake Community College. My teaching philosophy blends patience, creativity, and encouragement — whether you’re a complete beginner or expanding your skills.
